About the work
This was brief working with Escapologic escape rooms in Nottingham.
The goal of this project was to create a short documentary on a subject of our choice. Joining the DJ society at Nottingham Trent University reignited my passion for music. I wanted to explore more of what Nottingham had to offer in the music scene, which is what I decided to base my documentary on.Throughout the production process, I had the opportunity to film various venues around Nottingham and interview local DJs.
This project was a challenge and a steep learning curve for me. It has taught me a lot about the importance of the planning process and has forced me to quickly develop my post-production skills.
I’m happy with how the finished product turned out and look forward to applying the lessons I’ve learnt to future projects.
This advert was shot in the Peak District, advertising the iconic British car, Mini Cooper.
I’ve always had a huge passion for photography and technology in general.
Video production was something I wanted to explore further and my time at Confetti has given me a real insight into the workflow of a video production crew. The tutors at Confetti are highly knowledgeable and are always happy to help. I have enjoyed using industry-standard camera equipment and exploring many job roles within the industry. I’ve been given the chance to work as part of the Notts TV crew weekly, performing various roles on-set and in the post-production suite.
I’ve also had many other work opportunities filming for BBC music introducing and working with live clients to produce promotional videos. I look forward to my final year, building my portfolio, perusing opportunities within the creative industry, and developing my skills further.
Best Documentary Student of the Year
Jake’s documentary earned him a top award this year. His well well-polished documentary typifies what the course team at Confetti strive for in its students when tackling the Documentary Production module.
Jake has shown incredible resourcefulness and dedication to the production of his documentary; to not only bring together elements from all over the music industry, but to also have the technical know-how to shoot these scenes with his own creative flair, style and cinematic style.
