The Crying Violets – Single Release
About the work
Every year, one artist from Confetti’s Music Performance course is chosen to record a single with an experienced music producer. Once the single has been recorded, mixed and mastered, we set about planning the live single launch, and this is where our students come in. Working with their tutor, Rosie Haigh, our second year BSc students were tasked with creating a lighting design for the band to perform ‘in the round’.
Because of the limitations set by Covid, this single-launch meant that we couldn’t have an audience in to watch the performance, and so it would be live-streamed to YouTube. The students worked with Rosie to plan and design a unique lighting and video set up and the in-the-round stage also needed to have an appropriate audio system too. All of the work here was used as evidence towards the student portfolios that they develop across the year.
