About the work

For this assessment we were asked to produce a trailer for a television drama production, that would allow us to show exhibit our camera skills and our ability with various pieces of grip equipment.

It was slow going for a while and covid certainly caused issues for us when filming. As we didn’t have much access to our own kit we had had to rely on the Confetti stores, luckily they were able to open up over Easter and that allowed my group to make up for lost time and get shooting.

In the end, we did end up using a wide range of different cameras and grip equipment and I think the overall finished trailer turned out really well.

Naturally, there are things I would have liked to have gone back and changed, however, I think we have done an incredible job in the circumstances.

Student Bio

During my two years on the course, I’ve greatly developed my overall knowledge and understanding of both the camera and post-production elements of the television industry.

This course has also allowed me to gain experience on real-world shoots and produce work for clients I don’t think I would have had access to anywhere else.

My main aspiration is to develop my camera skills and grip knowledge further and to use even more of the Confetti equipment.
