Group Project – Genesis Zero – Samuel Cleall
About the work
The group assignment was to create a VFX sequence based on a piece of concept art sourced from an artist/production of our choice.
We all decided to choose the genre of sci-fi. Our sequence is set on a distant uninhabited planet, that follows our protagonist who is carrying the rucksack containing an asset that is detrimental to the existence of humanity.
- 3D assets were modelled and animated in Maya.
- Texturing in Substance Painter.
- Sky Replacement in Adobe Photoshop.
- Compositing in Nuke.
During my first year at Confetti, I have gained an incredible amount of knowledge and understanding of VFX, ultimately driving the passion I already had further.
One of the key things that stood out to me during my first year, was the help offered by the course tutors, encouraging me to produce work that even I did not know I could deliver.
My goal is to develop my skills in Digital Matte Painting and eventually work as an environments artist at MPC in Canada
