About the work

This particular project stood out to me as the most creative assignment we were given this year, which I found extremely fun and exciting. We were tasked with creating a CG object and blending it together with a photographic backplate which involved all the different stages of 3D asset creation including 3D modelling, texturing, look development, lighting, and rendering.

For my chosen asset I decided to create a CG version of a ‘Fender Tweed Custom Deluxe’ amplifier and blend it with a photograph of Metronome’s Studio 1.

This project made me explore various texturing software and look development practices, which upon completion made me seriously consider the role of a texture artist as a future career path.

Student Bio

Joining Confetti’s VFX course as a mature student I felt very encouraged, and it has renewed my confidence that it’s never too late to chase your dream job. Although it has been extremely challenging, being introduced to all of the different aspects of what is possible within VFX has been nothing short of inspiring. Within one year I have experienced multiple production roles and been tasked with a variety of creative projects that surprisingly I have already found my niche into what I want to excel in and explore further in the years to follow.
